While the cats away the mice will play

So Father's and Son's is always a big deal at our house. BR's dad, Barry, always comes down and they go off all together. I think it is so important to have these bonding moments to build memories for everyone and learn together. But I have to admit I always felt a little bit cheated that the boys got to go out and have all this fun while I often stayed home with babies by myself and I hate being by myself. So I thought we girls needed a fun tradition we could do together. So I asked Vallie if she would like to host a Grandmothers Tea Party and invite them to come down for the weekend too. Fortunately, we live close enough to family that they can travel down to join us for these fun events. We had a blast. I asked each Grandma to bring something they loved to eat as a little girl to share with Vallie at our tea party. We did arts and crafts, watched a movie, and stayed up all night talking. I might even dare say we had a funner time than the boys. So here are some pictures of our Tea Party. These are our hats we made.Enjoying our Tea (aka-apple Juice) in our fancy hats.
An ugly picture of me but it was the only one so I had to post it.
Vallie using her fan we made. Next time we will have to remember the white gloves.
Vallie telling the Paparazzi, "Please, no photos".

Of course Brahm attended the girls night in because he is way to little in join the menfolk yet.
Here he is playing doctor with Grandma Christensen.

Enjoying his yorgurt. My little messy face:)

Chilling in his favorite place to sit.

What a cute idea! You are so creative! I will never have a problem being left at home alone because of a father and son outing! lol:-)

What a great idea Tara! I love the top picture of Vallie in her hat. I bet she just loved every minute. That cake looks so good. My mouth is watering. It's fun to see pictures of your mom. She looks great. I hate being alone too. John hasn't gone to Fathers and Sons in our ward here, but I think next year will be the first time he goes and take Caleb.

I'm so jealous. I wish I could do something like that. I don't think Trent's mom would be able to make the 14 hour drive for a tea party, but I might have to plan to do something like that when they happen to be here.
