We had our semi-annual trip to the Dentist this past week and this one was very special because it was Vallie's first time. We love to go to the dentist because Grandma is the hygienist. Vallie is so funny. She totally let the Doctor exam her teeth but do you think she let the hygienist (Grandma) clean them? No way! I swear she is better for complete strangers than she is for her loved ones. But here is a picture of her in the hygienist chair.
When I was little, we had a tradition that if there were no cavities we would be able to go out to eat at a restaurant afterwards. It really helps to keep good brushing up through out the year.
So here are the kids enjoying their Root Beer floats from Leatherby's since it is right across the street from the Dentist office. It was tons of fun and the kids were so excited.
I am not sure if you noticed but I french braided Vallie's hair for the first time for the occasion. I was surprised how well she held still for me. I LOVE to french braid hair and when I was little, I couldn't wait to have a little girl just to braid her hair :) Her hair has just taken forever to grow but we tried it and it turned out decent. So we will have to do it more often. By the way, although I would love to braid my own hair, I never do because I always think I look like a polygamist.

I was thinking about you the other day. Have you ever heard of Etsy. It is an online shop for everything handmade. You should look into starting your own little Etsy shop. You are so handy with a sewing machine, you could probably do pretty well. Check Esty out!

Too Cute! I'm glad there were no cavities! Mmmm...Leatherby's is the greatest! Vallie's hair is adorable! I wish Madi would let me do more fun things w/her hair...she's so weird about me trying new things w/her hair...I guess it's her OCD coming through again:)lol.
Tara, Thank you for checking up on me on my blog. I always want to blog more than my kids will let me. :) I love Vallie's hair! Caleb will go to his first dentist visit next month. Bekah has always been horrible at the dentist up until her last visit. We finally had a breakthrough. Yea! That's so cool that your kids go to your mom for their cleanings. Tell her hi for me.
That is so cute! I am glad that they sat there so nice. I probable would to if I could go to Leatherby's after. I laughed so hard when I took the kids to the dentist at the first of the year and the next day they wondered if they could go back. Seriously, I remember being scared of the dentisi when I was little (heck, I am a little scared now). It is fun that your kiddos get to go to their grandma to get their teeth cleaned.
Vallie's hair looks so cute! I have never mastered the art of french braiding. Maybe you could show me how sometime.
About the French Braiding the polygamist do not use it. They are more worried about the Tuft in front. The higher it is the closer they are to God. S9o go for it. DAD
