So, Grandma Bulow asked Vallie today if she missed Barry Bretton. Does this answer your question?

Her response was, "Yes I missed him but I didn't cry." Hey now, that was a low blow from a 2 year old. I wonder if she was revering to the other 28 year old bawl baby in the house. This picture was taken as we were walking to get into the car. Man I just love these kids.
This is Barry Bretton lining up to go into his classroom. His teacher, Mrs. Barlow, is in the forefront. Now to my story of how I decided to send him to public school. Most of you know I was torn forever with what to do. When I got my new calling I prayed continually with the knowledge of what to do cause I was afraid I could not successfully do both, homeschooling and my calling. I feel my answer came when I receive the letter with who his teacher was for the year. Mrs. Barlow literally lived right down the street from us and moved away a couple years back. This is her first year back to teaching since babies. She is still in our stake serving in the stake YW presidency and I know and have served with her quit often in the church. Can I tell you what peace this brought to my heart for the year. Man, the tender mercies of the Lord are miraculous. I can't say that I will leave him (or any of our kids) in public school forever but for this year it works.

He came home and told me every detail he could possible remember about the day. Such as he is in the Fish group (that is the table he sits at), the books they read, some kid spilling glue all over the place, the songs they sang, how he ate 3 handfuls of Cheeze-Its for a snack, and of course a play by play of recess. He even told me about a kid who got a yellow warning card for not coming when he was called into class after recess and how Mrs. Barlow found him in another Kindergarten classroom, What? This is one of my whole public education fear (deep breaths). But here he is doing his homework which may I add he couldn't wait to do. Yeah for you Barry Bretton!

I love to hear the stories of school. I didn't hear about the glue being spilled all over though. I'm so glad they had fun. And I am so happy that Barry is in Ashlyn's class. They will have a great year.
So Cute!!!
I am so glad that everything worked out for Barry Bretton. I am sure that was such a relief to have a teacher that you know and trust. He looks so cute and Vallie is always dressed so nice. I love it! By the way, I can't decide on your hair - I like it both ways! :)
I'm glad Barry Bretton had a good day! He looked so cute for his first day of school...and that picture of him and Vallie holding hands is priceless...Too Cute:)
I am trying to wipe away a few tears so I can write a comment. I just can't believe little Barry Bretton is so big now. Just knowing that he has a great teacher will be such a comfort to your heart. I like how Vallie mentions that she is a big girl and didn't cry. That is a classic. I wish I still was around more to get in on all the Bulow Family Fun. I am just glad that you blog fun stuff so I can know what you are up to still. It is great that he tells you everything that goes on, so you can keep tabs on him.
Oh yeah you should donate your hair to lock of love like you were planning forever ago. SOme little girl would be so lucky to have your fabulous hair.
