We just got home from St. George tonight. We went up there for Tiffanie's baby shower, my Mom's birthday, and Genae's (my brother's fiance) bridal shower. So you would think that would be tons of fun however I am totally sick cause I got in my first car accident up there. It was totally my fault too so I am absolutely miserable about the whole thing. The poor old couple I rear ended were just disgusted with me and really let me know it. To make matters worse, the old couple just got the car that week. Luckily I only had Brahm with me but man if I could only turn back time. I was on my way to the bridal shower and had no idea where it was. I was stopped at a light on the BOULEVARD (a major road in St. George) when the light turned green. The couple in front of me started to drive so I took my foot off the gas then looked over to grab my map on the console. When I looked back up they had stopped. I slammed on my brakes but it was toooo late. I was only going about 2 miles per hour however when your car weights about 10,000 pounds that is enough. The tow bar on the front of my truck cracked the plastic bumper on the left side of their car. I just bawled about it. I feel like I don't ever want to drive ever again and am really frustrated with myself for taking my eyes off the road for even a second. I ended up getting a ticket also. What a terrible day. I did happen to have my camera in the car so I took a picture for insurance purposes. I hope none of you know the little old couple, the Harrison's, but if you do please let them know that I am truly sorry and am not the terrible person they think I am.

Oh Tara - this make me sad because I hate seeing you be so hard on yourself! I can't believe that old couple treated you so bad!!! Plus, it wasn't even that much damage. They obviously have no idea what a good person you are! I know what you mean though about feeling sick inside ...I rear ended a car this weekend in our Wal-mart parking a lot and I was so scared to get out and look. Thankfully, no damage was done. I am so sorry that you are feeling horrible especially when you were just wanting to enjoy a nice family weekend. Try not to let it bother you because these things happen and we just have to let it go. Love ya!!!
Tara, Angie is right...these things just happen. You are lucky that it has not happened before...you have great odds. Really, don't beat yourself up...it can happen to the best of drivers. I am sorry you got a ticket...that is really hard. I rear ended a car that was backing up into the road near my dorm in college. I got a ticket, although the officer said he didn't want to give it to me, that he had to for insurance reasons. No one really thinks you are a bad person, this old couple was just stressed and stress will do that to people. Please don't worry, you are a great driver! I would not ever even dare drive your vehicle (although I have flown bigger...that is so funny) I am totally intimidated by large vehicles on city streets. Just know that you didn't do it on purpose and we all make mistakes every once in awhile. Shrug it off:) Oh yeah and I CAN'T believe your brother is getting married! WOW!
That is the worst feeling. I'm glad that no one was hurt. Those kinds of things tear me up too. They won't even think about it after a few days, don't you worry. A guy ran a red light and hit me years ago and totalled my car and he didn't even get a ticket! What are the odds?!
Tara, I am terrified of getting in a car accident. I feel so bad for you, because I know I would have those same feelings of not ever wanting to drive again. I'm glad no one was hurt, that's whats most important. I'm sure that old couple feels ashamed of themselves now for acting that way, and especially to someone as nice as you are!
Oh that stinks!! There is no reason to make someone feel even worse than they already do knowing that it was an accident! I'm sorry that happened to you!
