I said in a past post that we had gotten a new dishwasher but didn't say how it came about. So since it is Sunday, here is my faith promoting story. Our dishwasher was on it's last leg. I mean it smelt like fire when it ran and sounded like an airplane was taking off in our house. I knew we needed a new one however, I also knew we had a bunch of medical bills about to come in from Brahm's birth, NICUnit stay, and his surgery. $4000 can sure rack up fast in the medical field. I knew we needed to stay well underneath our budget for the next couple of months so we could cover the bills as they came in. We always listen to the prophets counsel about staying out of debt so we wanted to pay off the bills as soon as we could. The dishwasher would just have to wait however I was afraid it would burst into flames at any moment and would not run it unless it was supervised. After talking to Barry, he suggested that we double our fast offering. Now I understand the principle but when money is tight, it is hard to have the faith to do it. Logically it would never make sense to give more money away, Right? So we doubled our fast offering. About a week later, Barry was talking with his parents when they said they were getting rid of their dishwasher that was about a year old to get a new one to go in the kitchen they were remolding. Barry offered to purchase it from them but they said we could just have it cause they were just going to give it away anyway. A couple of days later it was at our house and installed in the kitchen. What a blessing!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have never thought to increase our fast offerings. It's crazy how fast medical bills can add up. Trusting in the Lord always brings such great blessings!
That is so amazing. I wish it always worked out like that. Blessings come when we least expect them and in the strangest ways.
I certianly am a strong believer in paying tithing and fast offerings,we had a similar experience with a dryer. Thanks for sharing!!
Tara...I didn't know you went to Pine View High School???? Were you a pantera?? My sister was last year. That is to cool! How did you recognize the gym by those pictures?
