Spicing Things UP!

I saw a friend with this idea a couple months ago and immediately 3 thoughts whacked me over the head.

#1 thought- That is amazing!

#2 thought- I waste so much time searching through my unorganized spice cupboard; why didn't I ever think of that?

#3 thought- My mom's spice cupboard is way worse than my. She definitely could use this idea.

Shopping for my parents is sometimes hard but I knew this was something she could definitely use, enjoy, and think of me every time she opened her cupboard:) This could be the perfect birthday present for my ultimate chef mother! I mulled over it for a while and then ordered enough empty spice containers online for her and I. Then, I begged my darling husband to build two stair like shelves out of wood to display them all on. And Presto! 40 of my favorite spices and herbs organized at my fingertips. It is now past her birthday so I could blog about it with out ruining the surprise. Plus, I had to share this idea just in case some of my cooking friends have mod podge spice cabinets like my old one. Whoever thought of this was pure genius. I smile every time I open my spice cupboard door. Now I don't have to empty my whole cupboard to find that little bottle of ground ginger or whatever pushed all the way to the back. What a time saver!

Hey Tara! I was just thinking about you guys today and then I was so excited to see you'd posted! I'm going to have to try this, my spice cupboard is one big black hole. Everything gets sucked in and I can never find anything until I've knocked everything over at least twice. Thanks for the great idea! Hope you're doing great!

I must try this. I have about four jars of basil because I can never find a jar when I need it!

Sweet idea! Will you tell me where you got the jars? I may need your husband to help me with the shelf too. :) Maybe his dad or brother can help me. :)
