So before we moved into this ward, I was so hoping our new ward had a killer scout program. When we arrived we were informed one of the bishopric members was a professional scouter. Needless to say, this ward really takes scouting seriously. Well, one week before Barry Bretton turned 8 we received callings to be over the wolf den in cub scouts! We have had 4 den meetings already and can I just say we are loving it. Barry and I haven't had the opportunity to serve together in a really long time. It is great! His strengths are my weaknesses and my strengths are his weaknesses so as a team it rocks. Both BR and I are really familiar with scouts so we hit the ground running and have already had some great successes. One of the companies Barry does the accounting for owns some incredible construction equipment. We got to take the boys for a tour to test it out. The yard had over 50 huge trucks. AWESOME! and even better all the boys (and equipment) came out safe.
We also got our computer beltloop. Check out this action shot of BR! We had a broken computer and BR was in the process of rebuilding a new one so why not dissect it and turn it into a scouting adventure. The boys loved it. We can't wait for more. I do have to say I feel a little sorry for Barry Bretton because besides piano we teach him EVERYTHING (school, scouts, gymnastics, and Barry is his basketball coach). He doesn't seem to mind though (and when you have parents as cool as us, why would you :) One thing is for sure. You can't say we are not involved in our children's lives.

What a lucky cub scout den to have you! And lucky children to have such involved parents. I've never heard a child complain about that.
