Things kids think!

Halloween is just right around the corner and I try to make it a big deal with my kids. Every year I make their costumes and try to come up with some sort of theme so their costumes match. This year the kids aren't having it. They want to pick out their own costumes without any help. Which is just fine (I had an eight year run with coming up with them. They haven't really cared up until this year) but I am a little sad they don't want to have a theme together. Vallie just has to be a ballerina so I tried with my best convincing to get Barry Bretton to be a nutcracker but he wouldn't even think about it. Barry Bretton wants to be a Union General from the Civil War so I tried to encourage Vallie to be a Southern Belle (wouldn't that just be adorable). Needless to say, they are going their separate ways with Halloween costumes this year.

However, I remember when I was around Vallie's age I totally wanted to be a ballerina for Halloween so I wanted to dig up a picture to see if it was the year I was four/five too. We happened across this picture in my book and Vallie says, "Oh my gosh Mom! Look it is the Chipettes!" And she really believed it was too. So I might not have have my children's costumes match this year but I will be on a singing tour with my sister as Jeanette, Brittany, and Eleanor:)

That is so funny! I can definitely see the similarities between you and the chipettes! Look how cute you are Tara! I love it!
