Independence

Barry Bretton has had a streak of independence lately which for the most part I love. Such as he wants to make pancakes in the morning all by himself (which he can't successfully do it but he is learning). He also wants to pick out his clothes all by himself (I always set clothes out for my kids so they can get dressed by themselves in the morning). To this point there has been very little arguing about it he just puts them on (Vallie on the other hand is always concocting some outfit). Well, he is done with me picking out his clothes and thinks he can do a better job. So this is what he picked out this morning.
After I informed him that it doesn't match and he needs to change, he insisted they both have blue and they are both plaid. "Of course they match!" he said like I was crazy. This is one morning I am especially glad he doesn't leave the house for school.

I remember my little brother was the same way. He would wear horrible color combinations, and he would have some ridiculous explanation, or find the tiniest spot of orange on the pants that would match his shirt. Guys just can't dress themselves.

That's too funny! It's true that guys generally have issues with coordinating. He's right about it matching. Almost. ;)

I agree with Barry Bretton...they match! J/K...Natali has left the house and gone to school looking worse than that though...I LOVE independence! It brings a smile to my face...every time...

Tara, that is so funny. It is always nice to see that other people's kids do the same thing. I'd say he did a decent job....at least he will just be at home.

Bekah does the same thing. She wants to create her own outfits. As soon as she gets home from school she changes. He is such a handsome boy!
