August Update

Well here is a long overdue August Update.

New happenings with Barry Bretton:
He is officially done with Kindergarten. He said his highlights of the year were Mrs. Barlow (she is fabulous) and when his mom came to help in the classroom (Aaawwwe). What a sweetie!
He will now be moving on to 1st Grade, Yippee! I am really excited/nervous for this new year to start. He starts school on Tuesday. I am nervous because we are trying something new this year for school. Since he will have to attend two different elementary schools this year, Barry and I decided to enroll him in a Charter school so he would not have to switch schools in the middle of the school year. I am nervous because I will be teaching him at home. Most of you know I have wanted to home school for a while now and we are taking this year as an opportunity to test it out and see if this is the route we want to go with our families future. I am thrilled to say I know the teacher that has been assigned to work with us for the year (she is actually my old Stake Relief Society President). I almost cried when the office lady at the school told me she was the teacher assigned to us!

Warning!

If you come to the Bulow's house please watch your boys carefully. Vallie is trying her hand in fashion and she doesn't care on who. Your little man could sport something like this:

Or Heaven forbid, something like this:

Doesn't Brahm just look thrilled. Speaking of Brahm, he has hit two very important milestones this month. 1. He has started to attend nursery (or should I say WE have started to attend nursery)! Really I don't want to talk about it much cause it is not going well at all but picture this: as soon as we cross the threshold of the nursery door his arms and legs become permanently super glued to my neck/body. Hopefully he will get the hang of this soon. 2. He got the okay to turn his car seat to the forward facing position! I know he is almost 19 months old but his doctor asked me to keep him facing in the rear position until he got some more weight on those little bones. Sitting forward has made our most recent road trip very enjoyable.

I took the kids camping with my parent for a week. Barry couldn't take a week of vacation off so he met us up there on Friday. We had so much fun. Nothing is better than eating breakfast by a campfire in a pink chair and playing all day outside. Vallie was in heaven!

We even did some hiking
Brahm "swam" in the dirt. So on about day three he had to have a bath.
Barry Bretton was determined to catch some squirrels. He made a "trap" and actually caught quite a few rodents all of which he let go. I swear he did this for hours.

House news:
I can be very superstitious and I haven't wanted to say anything to anyone cause I think it will jinx it but we have been in contract with this house for just over a month now. We are crossing our fingers that everything works out in the crazy Las Vegas market and getting this house. It is just taking FOREVER and may take FOREVER more, who knows? I certainly don't at this point since returning phone calls is just way to much to ask. But here is a picture of the house and if any of you happen to be the agent for Countrywide over getting this house on the fast track to being closed I make some pretty mean Orange Rolls:)

It's so great to hear an update! We've been wondering how things have been going. I'm confused about the charter school. The charter schools I know of is like a regular school but parents volunteer a lot. I'm interested in how it works.
The camping trip looked so fun, and I really hope the house works out and soon!

He is so creative! Vallie's fashions are great- I'm glad to hear she holds her own with all the boys around her. Hope the house situation get resolved soon. Hang in there!

Glad to hear things are going well. I wish you luck with the charter/home school thing. Although, I am sure it will be great. All of the decisions sometimes seem so difficult. And I hope you guys are able to close on your house soon.
